Mahindra was debuts the rebadged version of Rexton in 2018 Delhi Auto Expo. And, Mahindra already announced that it would launch its luxury SUV, Alturas G4, on November 24, 2018. Technically, it is the second-gen SsangYong Rexton, but its in Mahindra brand. There is no difference between Ssangyong Rexton and this model, Its just rebranded to Mahindra. For campaign purpose, Mahindra has revealed some key features of its high-end SUV, the Alturas G4.
- To be equipped with Hi-Tech & Safety features like 8-way Powered Driver Seat with Memory Profile, Dual Zone FATC, 9 Airbags, 3D 360 degree Around View Camera, etc.
- To be available through a separate high-end showroom within the Mahindra ‘World of SUVs’ with exclusive Relationship Managers
- Launch of Purple Club+, a First in category loyalty program
Rexton is the body-on-frame product like most of the other SUVs from Mahindra. Compared to previous generation model, the new model have an improved build quality and approximately 50kgs lighter than previous model. And this model offers better fuel economy and improved aerodynamic design. This model powered by a 2.2-litre diesel engine. It delivers the power of 178 Bhp and torque of 420Nm. The SUV also get a all-wheel-drive system. Transmission duties are expected to be covered by a six-speed automatic or a six-speed manual unit.

The Alturas G4 would be exclusively available through a separate high-end showroom within the existing Mahindra ‘World of SUVs’ dealerships. These outlets will be equipped with ultra-modern digital technology to provide an enhanced and immersive high-end experience for customers. All Alturas G4 customers would have access to exclusive Relationship Managers to cater to their requirements, another segment first.
With the Alturas G4, Mahindra would also be introducing a new premium loyalty program, called Purple Club+. The Purple Club+ program will be a first-in-category loyalty program that would enable customers to earn and redeem points based on engagements with the brand.
The Mahindra Alturas G4 will compete against the premium SUVs like Ford Endeavour and Toyota Fortuner. Once, its launched in India, Alturas G4 will be the flagship model from Mahindra.
