Bajaj Chetak Electric Scooter Revealed

Bajaj has unveiled its first electric scooter, the Chetak in India. The manufacturer had begun production back in September but will commence sales only in January 2020. And, official launch expected around mid-November to early December.

Bajaj has drawn inspiration from its original Chetak. The Chetak is a well-equipped scooter with a handlebar-mounted LED headlight, LED turn signals and a fully digital LCD instrument cluster. Bluetooth phone connectivity is also on offer, as is geo-fencing, location tracking, music and telephone controls. The Chetak rolls on 12-inch alloy wheels, with a disc brake at the front and drum at the rear.

Bajaj hasn’t revealed full details of the Chetak’s motor. The scooter offers two modes- Eco and Sport which offer a range of 95kms and 85kms respectively. Bajaj has also announced that it will be providing a nominally-priced home charging station for the Chetak. It is suspended from a single-sided shock up front and a monoshock at the rear.
