Mahindra is working on the next generation model of this popular offroad utility vehicle Thar. This has been one of the most successful off-roader in the country that had a functional four-wheel drive with real off-roading capabilities. First launched way back in 2010, the vehicle received a mid-life facelift in 2015.

The new Thar will get better upholstery and features which includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless mobile charging and memory seats. The new model might also get intelligent and assisted driving function in future. And also some reports indicate that there might be a new 1.5-litre petrol engine which might also be offered. 

The current generation Thar is available with a 2.5-litre diesel engine with DI and CRDe options. The DI engine delivers the power of 63 bhp and torque of 182.5Nm (1500-1800rpm). And the CRDe diesel engine delivers the power of 105 bhp (3800 rpm) and torque of 247Nm (1800-2000rpm). Both models are available in two wheel drive and four wheel drive options. We expect it to arrive in India sometime next year.
