Volvo  has launched the go-fast version of the S60, the S60 Polestar, in India at an introductory price of Rs 52.5 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).  The term Polestar is to Volvo like AMG is to Mercedes and M-division is to BMW. The S60 Polestar is the first model to enter in India in Polestar brand.

Its powered by a specially-enhanced version of Volvo s award-winning 2.0-litre four cylinder petrol Drive-E powertrain. It delivers  367PS of power and 467Nm of torque, which is 61PS and 67Nm more than the standard variant.  The car makes the zero to 100kmh sprint in 4.7 seconds and is limited to a top speed of 250kmh.

Polestar has taken an original S60 and added a bigger turbo, a supercharger, new conrods, new camshafts, a larger air intake and a higher capacity fuel pump to augment the engine, and matched it with a BorgWarner four-wheel drive system and the new Polestar-optimised eight-speed Geartronic automatic gearbox. The S60 Polestar goes up against the Mercedes-AMG C 43 and Audi S5 in India.
