Tata Altroz Officially Unveiled In India

The Tata Altroz premium hatchback has finally been unveiled in India. While the launch is scheduled for January 2020. Pre-orders for the Altroz will begin today for a token amount of Rs 21,000. The Altroz name is inspired and is based on the Albatross sea bird. This model was first introduced in 2018 Delhi Auto Expo with concept name of 45X.

The new Altroz premium hatch is based on tata's updated impact 2.0 design language. And, Tata Harrier is also based on same language. Exterior design elemets gives the premium look. The Altroz will be the first model to use the company's all-new ALFA (Agile Light Flexible Advanced) ARC platform, which is expected to underpin a host of models from the automaker in the future. The Altroz gets the lot of features like 16-inch diamond-cut alloys, dual front airbags, driver and co-driver seatbelt reminder, front and rear fog lamps, ISOFIX child seat mounts, 7-inch TFT colour instrument cluster,  7-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system,  flat-bottom steering wheel, cruise control, auto AC, multi-drive modes (Eco & City), push-button stop-start, auto headlamps, ambient lighting, front sliding armrest, rear AC vents, 100W Harman audio system and more,.

Altroz will be offered with BS6 complaint 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engine. The petrol engine delivers 86 PS of power and 113Nm of torque. And the other hand the diesel engine delivers 90PS of power and 200Nm of torque. Both the engines will be mated to a 5-speed Manual transmission. The Altroz is expected to launch with turbo petrol engine option near future.

Altroz will positioned in premium hatchback segment and will compete against Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Hyundai Elite i20, Honda Jazz and the Volkswagen Polo.
