Porsche has launched the new second-generation Panamera in India with price of Rs. 1.93 Crore. And this is nearly 70kg lighter and five per cent stiffer than the previous model. The second-generation Panamera made its world debut last year in June at an event in Berlin, Germany.
There is a new four-point LED headlamp, newly designed tail lights with sleek LEDs replacing the bulbous units in the older car. Dimensionally, the new Panamera is longer (nearly 35mm), wider and taller (both by nearly 5mm) than the model it replaces, and its wheelbase has also grown significantly (by as much as 30mm). The new Panamera is equipped with several optional and standard features in terms of driving assist and safety equipment. Among new features are rear axle steering, air suspension, night vision assist to name a few.
The second-gen Panamera Turbo packs a newly developed 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 petrol motor. Thi motor delivers 542bhp of power and 770Nm Nm of torque. Porsche says that the new motor gets a 30PS and 70Nm bump in power and torque, respectively. The power is channeled to all four wheels via a new eight-speed PDK double-clutch transmission. It will accelerate from zero to 100kmph in 3.8second and will go all the way to a top speed of 306kmph.
