Maruti Suzuki has launched the updated Alto in India with BS6 engine for a price of Rs 2.93 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi). The updated Alto gets the new BS6 engine, New safety features and cosmetic updates on both exterior and interior. The new Alto is now only available in three variants.  The Alto 800 has become the second car from Maruti’s portfolio to get a  BS 6 compliant. The first car to receive the BS 6 treatment was the Baleno, which also received a new BS6 complaint engine yesterday.

Prices for the new Maruti Suzuki Alto (Ex-showroom Delhi):

• Alto STD - Rs 2.93 lakhs
• Alto LXI - Rs 3.50 lakhs
• Alto VXI - Rs 3.71 lakhs

In terms of appearance, the new Alto gets a new grill, new headlamp and redesigned bumpers. In terms of interior, the cabin gets dual tone finish with new air vents, new instrument cluster and the new Smart Play Dock with Bluetooth connectivity. The new model available with six colour options - Uptown Red, Superior White, Silky Silver, Granite Grey, Mojito Green and Cerulean Blue. The keyless entry is also part of the update. In terms of safety, the Alto now comes with ABS and EBD as standard along with reverse parking sensor, driver airbag, speed alert system and seat belt reminder for both driver and co-driver.

Mechanically, this model remains the  same 0.8 liter - 799cc engine. But now this engine is BS-VI compliant. This engine delivers power of 47.3 bhp (6000 rpm) and torque of 69Nm (3500rpm). The claimed fuel efficiency of the new Alto is 22.05kmpl.
