New Hyundai Xcent Facelift Launched With Starting Price Of Rs 5.47 Lakh

Hyundai has finally launched the facelift of its compact sedan, the Xcent, at a starting price of Rs 5.47 lakh (Ex-showroom Chennai). This time around, along with fresh cosmetic upgrades, the vehicle will also receive an updated diesel engine. Unlike the current generation model which is available in four trims, the new model will be offered in five variants - E, E+ (new trim), S, SX, SX (O).

Petrol 
E - Rs 5.48 lakh 
E + - Rs 6.04 lakh 
S - Rs 6.40 lakh 
SX - Rs 6.85 lakh 
SX (O) - Rs 7.65 lakh 
S AT - Rs 7.22 lakh 

Diesel 
E - Rs 6.39 lakh 
E + - Rs 6.95 lakh 
S - Rs 7.31 lakh 
SX - Rs 7.77 lakh 
SX (O) - Rs 8.56 lakh

The aesthetic changes have mostly been carried out at the front and rear compared to other sides. The new Xcent features a brand new cascading hexagonal grille. It will become the new family identity for Hyundai models in the future. And front also  get  daytime running LEDs and  projector fog lamps. At the rear, the fecelifted model get dual-tone bumper with new set of rear lamps.  The interior in the top spec trim will be offered with a new seven-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android auto with navigation, and multi-function steering wheel.

The Xcent petrol continues to draw power from the same 1.2-litre Kappa Dual VTVT engine that makes 83PS of max power and 114Nm of max torque. But, the Grand i10's previous 1.1-litre, U2 CRDi diesel engine is now updated to displace more volume. Power-torque figures have also improved. The 1.2-litre, U2 CRDi diesel engine makes 75PS of max power at 4,000rpm with the peak torque rated at 190Nm@1,750-2,250rpm. Diesel engine is available with 5-speed manual gear box and petrol is available with a choice of a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed automatic transmission. The Xcent competes with the likes of the recently launched Tata Tigor and other compact sedans like the Ford Aspire, Volkswagen Ameo, Maruti Suzuki Swift DZire, Honda Amaze and the Tata Zest.
