Mercedes-Benz GLB Revealed Ahead Of Official Launch

Mercedes-Benz has revealed the final procution spec version of GLB SUV after it showcased a near-production prototype of the car in China in April 2019. The GLB will be positioned between the GLA and GLC. The Mercedes-Benz GLB looks like proper boxy SUVs, not like GLA and GLC, which look more like crossovers.

Mercedes-Benz GLB SUV measures 4634mm in length, 1890mm in width and 1900mm in height, while the wheelbase is 2829mm, and it’s almost the same size as the India-spec GLC. The GLB is available in 7 and 5-seater options and it’s the first Mercedes-Benz compact SUV to feature a three-row layout. The interior of the GLB concept is finished in black and brown combination. And, this model gets the aal the luxury features as like other Mercedes-Benz models. The GLB is the smallest Mercedes-Benz SUV to offer the option of seating seven people on the inside. Importantly, Mercedes-Benz doesn’t claim outright that it can seat seven adults. Instead, the carmaker says that the GLB’s rear row can seat two people of 5’5” height comfortably. Third row occupants also get a cupholder, USB socket and storage compartment.

Under the Hood, this model gets the two petrol and two diesel engine options. The GLB 200 is powered by turbocharged 1.3-litre petrol unit and the second petrol option, the GLB 250 is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine. The GLB 200d and GLB 250d, both powered by the same 2-litre diesel, but with different state of tune. All the engines are paired with an eight-speed DCT, while the 1.3-litre petrol unit is powered by a 7-speed unit. And also all the engine models are comes with Mercedes-Benz’ 4MATIC permanent all-wheel drive system except 1.3-litre petrol unit model.

Mercedes-Benz has announced that the sales of the GLB will commence in Germany at the end of 2019. It will be manufactured in Mexico and China. Mercedes-Benz GLB SUV Concept expect to hit the Indian roads around 2020 and it will be priced between GLA and GLC.
