Hyundai Issues Recall For Eon Models In India

Hyundai has issued a voluntary recall for 7,657 units of the Eon. The reason why this recall is taking place is that the clutch cable could be damaging the battery cable and has to be inspected. This inspection and a possible replacement of the battery cable will be free of cost for the owner.

The statement from Hyundai reads, "Hyundai Motor India will voluntarily recall 7657 number of Eon cars in India manufactured between 1st January 2015 – 31st January 2015. Eon customers of respective period will be notified in a phased manner for inspection of the clutch cable fouling with Battery Cable and replace the Battery Cable if found damaged."
 This model available in 0.8 liter and 1.0 liter engine options in India.

This 0.8 liter petrol engine delivers the power of 56 bhp (5500 rpm) and torque of 76Nm (4000rpm). As per ARAI certification, this model gives mileage of 21.1 Kmpl. This 0.8 liter engine is also available in LPG. 

This 1.0 liter petrol engine delivers the power of 69 bhp (6200 rpm) and torque of 96Nm (3500rpm). As per ARAI certification, this model gives mileage of 20.3 Kmpl.
