Honda WR-V Launched With Starting Price Of Rs 7.9 Lakh

Honda Cars India has finally launched its debutant sub-4m crossover, the WRV with Chennai showroom starting price of Rs 7.9 Lakh. This model was first showcased in the 2016 Sao Paulo International Motor Show in Brazil. The Japanese automaker has highlighted in an official release that India will become the first country to manufacture and launch the WR-V in the world. It is available in just two trims – the base S and the range-topping VX.

Variant wise Chennai showroom price details:
Petrol 
Honda WRV S: Rs 7,90,500 
Honda WRV VX: Rs 9,14,500  

Diesel 
Honda WRV S: Rs 8,94,500
Honda WRV VX: Rs 10,15,400

The bigger front grill, bumper and plastic cladding are give the better SUV look. But side and rear profile will be identical to the Jazz. This model shares a few design elements with Jazz and City. The Honda not revealed about the interior design. And mechanically, the compact SUV is likely to get engines from the Jazz. This model have segment first one-touch open and close sunroof.

It borrows its powertrains from the Jazz – the 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol (five-speed manual) and 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel (six-speed manual). The  petrol engine delivers the power of 90 bhp (6000 rpm) and torque of 110Nm (4800rpm). And the diesel engine delivers the power of 100 bhp (3600 rpm) and torque of 200Nm (1750rpm).  And, its certified fuel efficiency of the petrol WR-V returns 17.5kmpl, and the diesel returns 25.5kmpl. However, it doesn’t offer the CVT automatic.

Honda WR-V goes up against Ford Ecosport, Mahindra TUV300 and Maruti Suzuki Vitara Breeza.
