Fiat has revealed the much awaited Argo in a set of official pictures. Argo as the replacement for the Punto, which went out of production in January 2017 in Brazil (But still selling in select markets, including India). The name Argo, is taken from the famous ship of Jason and the Argonauts in Greek mythology.
Argo shares lot of design elements from the Tipo hatch. It gets Fiat’s latest grille design. The Argo will be revealed completely in Brazil in coming days along with its prices. Though not confirmed for India, we believe that it might be launched in the country by 2018.
The petrol variant will be powered by 1.0-liter turbo petrol and 1.3-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. The diesel plant is expected to be a 1.8-litre E.torQ engine. If launched here, the Argo get same 1.2-litre petrol with F.I.R.E technology and the 1.3-litre Multijet diesel. Ant it will compete against the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, the Volkswagen Polo, the Hyundai Elite i20, the Honda Jazz and the Toyota Etios Liva.
