The Italian motorcycle maker Ducati has launched the Multistrada 1260 and Multistrada 1260S in India at an Delhi ex-showroom price of Rs 15.99 lakh and Rs 18.06 lakh respectively. The new bike features a DVT (Ducati Testastretta) engine that improves the delivery of torque even in low and mid-range and get some cosmetic updates. 

The 2018 Ducati Multistrada 1260 gets the new redesigned front fairing for better aerodynamics and improved airflow around the pillion rider and the top box, app-compatible, multifunction TFT display system, wireless key system, larger grab rails and LED turn indicators. This model have lot of features such as vehicle hold control (VHC), traction control, cruise control, Dual channel ABS, 4 riding modes (Sport, Touring, Urban and Enduro) and etc,. The Multistrada 1260S gets some additional goodies such as Ducati's Skyhook Suspension (DSS), a quick-shifter, cornering lights and a full-colour TFT display.

Mechanically, this model gets the 1262cc L-twin Ducati Testastretta DVT engine. It produces 160PS at 9500rpm and 129.5Nm at 7500rpm. It comes with a 6-speed gearbox. Ducati has tuned the Multistrada 1260’s engine to deliver better torque at mid and low rpm range. Braking duties are carried by 320mm twin discs at front and 265mm disc at rear with dual channel ABS system, the Multistrada 1260S gets 10mm larger discs up front coupled with superbike-spec Brembo's Monobloc M50 calipers. This model will compete against the BMW R 1200 GS and Triumph Tiger 1200 XCx.
