TVS Motors has introduced the XL 100 Heavy Duty with new i-Touch electric start variant at Rs 36,109 (ex-showroom Delhi). This is Rs 2,600 more expensive than the standard Heavy Duty model. The i-Touch Start feature includes an integrated starter generator instead of a starter motor in the moped. The i-Touch Start technology is claimed to consume 30 per cent less battery compared to conventional electric start technology. And it also have low maintenance cost and  it makes starting noise free.

The new XL100 Hd  i-Touch Start also gets a USB charger. Mechanically, this model gets the same 99.7cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. This engine delivers the power of 4.3PS at 6000rpm and torque of 6.5Nm at 3500rpm. And, this power transfered to rear wheel via single-speed gearbox with a centrifugal wet-type clutch. The TVS XL is one of the oldest and best selling moped in India.
