India's largest automobile company Mahindra have a plan to launch premium scooter brand Peugeot Scooters In India By 2017. These scooters will compete against the Italian Vespa scooters in the premium segment market.

Mahindra is one of the largest automobile company having all segment vehicles including Heavy vehicles, light commercial vehicles, Passenger cars, SUVs, Tractors, Bikes and Scooters. However, Mahindra has been recording less sales the two-wheeler segment. So, Mahindra to launch Peugeot  scooter brand in the premium segment in India. Mahindra has already been selling the Mojo bike in the premium bike segment. 

Mahindra Two Wheelers already showcased some Peugeot scooters at the 2016 Auto Expo, including the Speedfight and the Django along with the three-wheeled leaning scooter, the Metropolis. Noted that Mahindra going to acquire British Bike Brands, Norton and BSA.
