Royal Enfield has launched the all new Thunderbird 500X And 350X in India with price of Rs 1.98 lakh and Rs 1.56 lakh (ex-showroom) respectively. These models costs a premium of approximately Rs 7000. And these models are developed based on Thunderbird 500 and 300. This new models comes with considerable cosmetic updates along with some new features and equipment, but there are no changes in engine.
This new Thunderbird 500X and 350X gets the new flathandle bar, new dual tone colour scheme similar to the Classic 350 Redditch series, new alloy wheel, new tubeless tyre, new one-piece seat and etc,. And this will be the first bike to get the alloy wheel and tubeless tyre from Royal Enfield. Both these bikes gets 41mm telescopic forks at the front and twin gas-charged rear shock absorbers. Wheel sizes are the same as before: 90/90 R19 front and 120/80 R18 rear.
Mechanically these bikes remains unchanged, its get the same 1-cylinder and 499 cc and 346 cc capacity engine. The 499cc petrol engine delivers the power of 27.2 bhp (5250rpm) and torque of 41.3 NM (4000rpm). And, the 346cc petrol engine delivers the power of 19.8 bhp (5250rpm) and torque of 28 NM (4000rpm). Braking duties are carried by 280mm front disc and a 240mm rear disc. Thunderbird 500X model available with Getaway Orange and Drifter Blue color options and Thunderbird 350X model available with Roving Red and Whimsical White color options. These bikes will go up against the rivals like Mahindra Mojo and UM Renegade.
