Delhi Moves To BS6 Petrol And Diesel Today Onwords

From today onwords, Delhi will get only BSVI grade petrol and diesel. The central government of India announced that, all oil marketing companies to deliver BSVI grade fuel in Delhi  starting from April 1, 2018. The deadline for BS6 fuel introduction was set to April 2020 earlier.  Now, iti preponed two years befor, because of high pollution in Delhi recent days.

The capital of India, Delhi already have 10 years old car ban and odd even scheme for very high air pollution. BS6 grade fuel are now available in Delhi. But the same time, BS6 compliance vehicles are not available in India. Only few high end cars are available with BS6 emission norms. The new BS6 diesel have just 50 PPM of Sulphur, While normal diesel have 500 PPM. 

In January 2016, the central Government decided to implement stricter BSVI norms from April 1, 2020, instead of April 2021. BSV norms, initially planned to roll out from April 2019, were skipped entirely. Now, BS6 fuel is available only in capital of Inida, Delhi.
