Tata Motors has launched the sub-4m SUV, The Nexon with starting chennai showroom price of Rs 5.97 lakh. According to Tata, the Nexon is a short form of NEXt-ON. The sub-four metre compact SUV will be offered in four trims and two engine options with manual gear box option only. The AMT version will be added in next six months.

This model going to be available with 1.2 liter 3 cylinder Revotron petrol and 1.5 liter 4 cylinder Revotorq diesel engines. The 1198cc Revotron petrol engine delivers 110 PS @ 5,000rpm of power and 170Nm @ 2,000-4,000rpm of torque. And the other hand the 1496cc Revotorq diesel engine delivers 110PS @ 3,750rpm of power and 260Nm @ 1,500-2,750rpm of torque. Both the engines will be mated to a brand new 6-speed manual gearbox. And this diesel engine have Eco, City, and Sport driving modes.

This model gets lot of features such as projector headlamps and LED DRLs that we expect to be limited to the top trims, along with automatic climate control, reverse camera, 6.5-inch Harman-powered  touch screen infotainment and etc,. And this model have standard safety features such as dual-front airbags and ABS with EBD. The Nexon have 209mm off the ground, which is not only the highest in its segment, but also higher than its other cars. This model will give tough competition to Maruti Suzuki Vitara Breeza and Ford Ecosport.
