Skoda Kamiq Compact SUV Revealed

Skoda has revealed the much-awaited Kamiq SUV ahead of its public debut at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show. This model is expected to go on sale in India end of this year or early next year. This compact SUV sits below the Karoq SUV, which is also expected to launch in India.

The Kamiq is built on the new MQB A0 platform that it shares with the Volkswagen group cars. The new MQB platform is flexible for EV applications as well. The new ŠKODA KAMIQ is 4,241 mm long and 1,793 mm wide, and has a height of 1,531 mm. The wheelbase measures 2,651 mm. The Kamiq is equipped with LED headlamps and LED tail lamps. Skoda designed this vehicle with traditional grill and design philosophy by adding the next generation features as like Kodiaq. This model gets dual-zone climate control and a modern infotainment system with a touchscreen display which is smartphone compatible with the availability of Android Auto and Apple Car play. And it also gets Front Assist, Lane Assist, Side Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Rear Traffic Alert, Multi-Collision Brake, rear-view camera and etc,.

The Kamiq will be available with 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre TSI petrol engine and 1.6-litre TDI diesel engine options. These engines are available with a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 7-speed DSG. Out of these engine options, only the 1.0-litre engine has so far been confirmed to be introduced with the India-spec SUV.
