Maruti Suzuki has launched the new gen 2018 Ertiga in India at starting price of Rs 7.44 lakhs (ex-showroom Chennai). This model gets the new K15 petrol engine. This model available in four trims and two engine options along with two automatic transmission variant. This model will be sold via Maruti’s Arena dealerships and not Nexa.

The new-gen model developed in Heartect platform, which it shares with the Dzire, Ignis, Baleno and Swift. This model have lot of changes in design on both interior and exterior, features and etc,. And the New-gen model is bigger in size compare to existing model. On the exterior, this model gets the new front grill, head lamps, new alloy wheels, new side lines, new rear lights, new rear design layout, front and rear bumper and etc,. And the interior is entirely new with new design and new features. This model now gets flat bottom steering wheels. The dashboard also gets wood inserts and a new 6.8-inch infotainment system. The new Ertiga measures 4,395x1735x1690mm in dimensions and the wheelbase remains the same at 2,740mm.

Mechanically, this model available with all-new 1.5 liter K15 petrol engine and same existing 1.3 liter diesel unit. This petrol engine delivers the power of 103 bhp (6000 rpm) and torque of 138Nm (4400 rpm). And the diesel engine delivers the power of 90 bhp (4000 rpm) and torque of 200Nm (1750 rpm). Both this models available with five-speed manual transmission option, with an option of four-speed automatic for petrol. And, both the engines now get Maruti’s mild hybrid technology. The ARAI claimed fuel efficiency of the diesel is 25.47kmpl and 19.34kmpl for petrol manual and 18.69kmpl for the petrol automatic. 

The New Gen 2018 Maruti Suzuki Ertiga will compete against the rivales like Honda BR-V, Renault Lodgy, Mahindra TUV300 Plus and Marazzo.
