We are currently in end of 2017 and begining of the 2018. This year automobile market have some reasonable growth. Even auto industry have samll dip due to GST and demonetisation. And in 2017 loat of new and facelifted models were launched in India. We will see the five best SUV models were launched in India on 2017.

Tata Hexa

This model is designed on the Tata's new impact design philosophy. The front end is designed to be the most beautiful and rugged. But side profile give the appearance like Tata Aria. The Tata Hexa is powered by a 2.2-litre engine that is available in two states of tune. The Varicor 320 engine generates 148bhp of power and 320Nm of torque, however this is offered only in the base XE variant. As for the rest of the variants, they come powered by a larger Varicor 400 engine that generates 153bhp of power and 400Nm of torque.  It is available in six-speed manual and six-speed automatic configuration options. There is also an all-wheel drive system that offers four driving modes - Auto, Comfort, Dynamic and Rough Road. The Hexa have a lot of feature includes a 5-inch touchscreen infotainment interface, a 10-speaker sound system by JBL, 6 airbags, faux leather upholstery, automatic climate control and etc,.

Jeep Compass

The Compass is a compact 4x4 SUV. And it Looking unmistakably like a smaller Grand Cherokee. This model have lot of design elements from Grand cherokee and Renegede. Inside, the dashboard layout and the instrument cluster is much like the Grand Cherokee, with an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system. However this model gives perfect SUV look. In India, the Compass is available with 2.0-litre diesel engine and 1.4 liter turbo petrol engine. The diesel engine making over 173PS of power and 350Nm of torque. And petrol engine develops 162PS of power and 250Nm of torque. The Petrol model coupled to a six-speed manual transmission with an optional seven-speed automatic. But, diesel model available with only manual transmission. And same time Jeep offers 4x4 system with diesel engine only. This will combine the magic of Jeep’s software controls called Selec-Terrain, which offers four modes Auto, Snow, Sand and Mud to tackle different terrain. The Auto mode allows the Compass to disconnect drive to the rear wheels. This model have 178mm of ground clearance. Safety has been given huge importance as well, as 6 airbags, ABS, EBD, Hill start assist,  a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment display which is mated to a 6-speaker sound system and supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, push button start/stop and reverse parking sensors with a camera and many other features are being offered as standard on the Compass.

Skoda Kodiaq

Skoda designed this vehicle with traditional home grill and design philosophy by adding the next generation features. It can gives the appearance like a whole and big SUV. In interior, there are a few elements shared between the Kodiaq and Superb. The Kodiaq gets a lot expansive feature list like Apple CarPlay /Android Auto, WiFi hotspot, Infotainment online system, Care Connect System, climate control, leather seats, multiple cameras and etc,. And Skoda also gets lot of safety features like, nine airbags, advanced differential lock function, electronic stability control, pedestrian monitor, multi-collision brake, park assist, traffic jam assist, auto light assist, blind spot detect, ABS with EBD, hill hold control and etc,.  This model available with 2.0 liter turbo diesel engine that generates 150bhp of power and 340Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a seven-speed DSG transmission and also gets AWD system. This model also have four drive modes such as normal, eco, sport individual and snow. Most importantly, this model gets five-star rating at the Euro NCAP.  This name is derived from Kodiak bear that lives in Alaska and Kodiak island.

Tata Nexon

According to Tata, the Nexon is a short form of NEXt-ON. This model going to be available with 1.2 liter 3 cylinder Revotron petrol and 1.5 liter 4 cylinder Revotorq diesel engines. The 1198cc Revotron petrol engine delivers 110 PS @ 5,000rpm of power and 170Nm @ 2,000-4,000rpm of torque. And the other hand the 1496cc Revotorq diesel engine delivers 110PS @ 3,750rpm of power and 260Nm @ 1,500-2,750rpm of torque. Both the engines will be mated to a brand new 6-speed manual gearbox. And this diesel engine have Eco, City, and Sport driving modes. This model gets lot of features such as projector headlamps and LED DRLs that we expect to be limited to the top trims, along with automatic climate control, reverse camera, 6.5-inch Harman-powered  touch screen infotainment and etc,. And this model have standard safety features such as dual-front airbags and ABS with EBD. The Nexon have 209mm off the ground, which is not only the highest in its segment, but also higher than its other cars.

Renault Captur

This model gets lot of features such as 17-inch machine-cut alloy wheels, LED Tail lamps, Auto climate control, LED interior lighting, 7-inch infotainment system and etc,. And the Captur will be offered with lot of customization option as like Kwid. The model measures 4333 mm in length, 1813 mm in wide, 1613 mm in and and has a ground clearance of 204 mm. This car have boot space of 387 ltr.  Mechanically, this model available with same 1.5 liter petrol and diesel engine which was already in Duster. The 1.5 liter petrol engine develops 104bhp of power and 142Nm of torque. And the 1.5 liter diesel engine develops 108bhp of power and 240Nm of torque. Currently, both the engine options are limited to manual transmission and does not offer AWD and AT option. But, it expected in coming months. And also, ARAI certified the petrol engine gives 13.87kmpl of milege and other hand diesel engine gives 20.37kmpl.
